Updated Website Coming Soon!

Every Last Detail had an amazingly fun 2009 wedding and event season! We had so many wonderful clients who took the time to write us such lovely notes of appreciation. Therefore, we're revamping our current website design to accommodate all our accolades, press releases, media spotlights and real wedding photos. Currently, we're using our facebook fanpage: Every Last Detail - Professional Wedding and Event Consulting, as our "blog" but plan to have all that information here soon, too. We also revamped our package selections and got rid of the package structure altogether. Look for our new website design to highlight our customized wedding and event planning services based on the number of hours YOU need US. All of our weddings and events have to have, at some level, the same basic components. However, the client's needs now determine how much more assistance will be needed after the basics are covered. Totally customized, totally you. So, we're super excited for 2010. This is going to be another exciting year - we're already off to a GREAT start!

It's been so long since I've last blogged. I guess that's a good thing because it means I've been extremely busy. However, it also means I haven't been able to share any of my fantastic ideas here. One thing that I have been consistently doing is updating the Every Last Detail fan page on facebook. If you have a facebook account I would love for you to come join ELD's page. You can find the link in my info box on my profile. If you're like me, you've become slightly (ok, extremely) addicted to facebook. For me, it is filled with endless opportunities for inspiration and joy. I have networked with amazing wedding professionals, both local and nationwide, in order to stay current on wedding trends and ideas. Also, feel free to add me as a friend: Jackie Lee, Lexington, KY. What a great way to find out more about each other and make sure we're a match. So, come visit with me on facebook. I'm always there!

Every Last Detail has the most amazing clients! I can't express enough how honored I am every time I am hired to help plan a couple's wedding. It is so much fun to share every aspect of their Big Day and know, in my heart, I helped them accomplish the wedding of their dreams. From finding the perfect location for their ceremony to helping select the perfect vendors, I am overjoyed when I guide them in the right direction. Occasionally, for all my efforts, I am rewarded with wonderful reviews. This "thank you" is from a bride who, up until the day she hired me, had given up on finding the perfect location for her reception. She was disappointed that a venue she selected had made a huge mistake with her booking. She had just about thrown in the towel and was contemplating going to the courthouse and "being done with it." Shortly afterward, I informed her of another venue I had come across that I thought would be perfect and, needless to say, she fell in love with it more than her original selection! Here's what she wrote:

*************************************************************************

I am so happy that we hired Every Last Detail to plan our wedding. Jackie is not just fun to work with - she is professional and dependable. Any pressure that could be involved in planning our big day is totally gone because while I am at work, Jackie is working on our wedding and she is keeping her eyes on the budget that we set. We are enjoying our engagement and I have developed a friendship with Jackie that I hope will last a lifetime.

I used to think that hiring a wedding planner was a luxury that I would have to justify to friends and family. I don't believe this anymore. Not only is working with Jackie a financial reality, it has turned out to be a fantastic decision. We are going to have a beautiful wedding and we are maintaining our sanity and enjoying the planning process - all thanks to Jackie. I highly recommend Every Last Detail as the best friend of any bride-to-be and her groom.

Thank you for everything Jackie!

Sincerely, Cannon-Marie Green

Personalized Chocolates!

I came across these fantastic personalized chocolates with edible ink from U Oughtta Be On Chocolates (www.yoboc.com). I'm going to be purchasing a different shape that has my company logo for promotional purposes but I thought they were also a great idea for wedding favors. I've been pricing promotional chocolates and this company, by far, has the best price. There's no special molds to be made because they print a custom image directly onto the chocolate piece. The one shown is about a full ounce of chocolate and over 3 inches of printable space. They come pre-packaged in a plastic clamshell container. Choose from either dark or milk chocolate or order a combination of both. Add an engagement photo with the date of your wedding or just have your monogram on the front. Your guests will adore these cute favors! Hmm, and then when you need to announce a new baby?...

Inspiration Board - Wedding Result

Ok, so here it is! How beautiful is this?!? After seeing the inspiration board it's easy to get a feel for exactly how this bride wanted her wedding to look. Here's the details of exactly how it was pulled together (clockwise from top-left)...
*Teardrop vases full of fluffy peonies, ranunculus and fragrant sweet peas hung above the guest tables.
*Bridesmaids wore different shades of white and ivory.
*Mini cupcakes added to the cake-and-candy-filled Sweet Endings table.
*Custom silk monogrammed runners on all the tables with a “cuff” around the bar with the same design.
*To create the feeling of being outdoors, lighting designers created a pattern of delicate leaves on the tent ceiling that was draped in sheer white fabric.
*Cones of soft petals to shower the couple as they entered the reception space.
*The bride and groom share a moment post-ceremony on the lawn of their grandparent’s estate where the wedding took place.
*Spheres of fluffy white, pink, and peach carnations hung throughout the space.
*Guest tables were set in true southern tradition-family style.
*Hand-tied bundles of local herbs were placed on each place setting.
*The Sweet Endings table was filled to the brim with the bride and groom's favorites in soft hues.
*Satin ribbon tied to peach lanterns.
*The bride and groom's exit amidst a shower of sparklers.
*The cake was cut with the bride's great grandmother’s cake knife.
*Mini birds and butterflies were placed all over the space with antique garden furniture to make it feel like a whimsical Southern garden.
*Custom coasters from My Wedding Labels...an ELD fave!
*Bird placecards on champagne glasses greeted guests; classic Mason jars for guests to fill with sweet treats to take home.
So that's how you turn an inspiration board into a Real Wedding. We hope you were inspired...

Wedding Inspiration Board

In case you haven't heard of inspiration boards, here's a great example. Just as it sounds, you basically find pictures of anything that inspires you and put a collage together. It can be pictures of flowers, cakes, home accessories, vintage cars, antique furniture, your favorite color palettes, landscaping, mountain top views, your nephew laughing, and really, just about anything that makes you happy. For example, this bride wanted the feel of her wedding to “a beautiful antique with a story behind it.” With a modern twist on vintage glamour, this wedding turned out to be exactly what the bride wanted because she really knew what she liked. She wanted her wedding to reflect her Southern roots, strong family bonds and modern vintage style. The bride fell in love with the cake (pictured at center), monochromatic centerpiece collections (to the right of the cake), and the whimsy of these fabulous bird placecards. All from Martha Stewart Weddings. Added after that was, (clockwise from top left) her stunning Lazaro gown, the candy bar to add youth to her big day, softly-hued lanterns, frilly yellow tulips, a white vintage ‘62 Dodge Dart, white garden lanterns, a collection of antique milk dishes, fresh lemonade to cool guests in the warm summer sun, and a simple aisle of white blossoms. Wait until you see the results on the next page! Your wedding planner can help guide you in a direction once you discuss with her what your visions are for your big day. Then, you too, can have a fabulous wedding like the one you'll see shortly...

Guest Platters - Replaces Guest Book

Recently, at a Real Wedding the bride and groom used a monogrammed sterling silver platter in place of a traditional guest book. The platter came with engraving pens in lieu of ink. While I thought the concept was ideal because the couple could use the platter for important parties, dinners and such, the guests really couldn't do much more than write their names. The pens only showed up on the platter if they pressed down extremely hard which was difficult for the older guests in attendance. Ultimately, older guests didn't even sign the platter, the guests that did only managed to put their names on it and all the lettering ended up looking like childlike scribble. Plus, it was really hard to see where to sign in a dimly lit setting. However, I did come across these adorable platters that address all the problems I observed with the sterling silver. The ink shows up easily and guests can write normally with the pens. The platters are so cute! It looks like you can even custom design your own if you don't find a pattern that you like. If I was to get married again, this would definitely be what I would use. I love creating family heirlooms. From cutesy to elegant, they have a platter for you!
Real Wedding - June 21, 2008

I love the look of this wedding...it's like the California Wine Country was brought to the South. Attention was paid to even the smallest detail and the couple's style was weaved in and out of every design element. This is a classic example of how couples who stay current on wedding trends are turning away from "theme" weddings and turning towards "stylistic" events. Beautiful.

Oh, I love flowers...

I really, really love flowers. I heard once that Oprah has fresh flowers delivered to her home and office daily. That is my idea of heaven. In my opinion, flowers will make or break an event. They can turn a so-so reception area into a show-stopper. Stunning floral design isn't necessarily about how many you have but how the arrangements compliment the look and style of your event. Check out the great designs from this California floral artist. Simple, yet elegant. Studies indicate that a year after your wedding your guests will recall really only two things about your event...the cake and the flowers. Even brides on a budget can have fantastic floral displays if they use flowers that are readily available in their area to avoid shipping costs from exotic locales. Now that's a Great Idea!

You can't find better quality labels at such great a price and style without hiring your own graphic artist and printing company. They have a label for practically every possible use and you can completely customize the wording to fit your needs. What a great way to tie the look of your event together.
